IPOH: It’s business as usual for several state executive council members who were seen going in and out of the state secretariat building here.

With the uncertainty over the current political situation in Perak, Pakatan Harapan exco members said they would carry out their duties as usual for now.

State Public Facility, Infrastructure, Agriculture and Plantation Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Yunus Jamhari from PKR said he was working as usual by coming to the exco office, as well as visiting his constituency.

“As of now, it is still a Pakatan state government, and I am still with them,” he said at the state secretariat building.

Asked if he had met members from the other side (Umno and PAS) recently, Abdul Yunus said he had met them and discussions were mainly on current issues.

“I am friends with them, as we have been in the state assembly together, and we do discuss current issues sometimes when we meet or over the phone.

“I met Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu in Kuala Kangsar during a official function on Monday (March 3), and I also visited him at his official residence sometime last week,” he said, when asked about several other exco members being unable to meet or contact the MB.

State Tourism, Arts and Culture chairman Tan Kar Hing, who is also from PKR, said he too was going to the office as usual to carry out his duties.

“At the moment, we are still the state government, and since the Mentri Besar has not instructed us on anything, we will work as usual.

“So for now, in Perak it is still status quo, because there have not been any change, and some of us are unable to contact him (Faizal),” he added.

State women, family and community development committee chairman Wong May Ing said as an exco member, she had to come to the office.

“The committee has several programmes planned ahead, and I need to coordinate these with my staff.

“For now, we are just working as usual, until there are instructions given to us,” she added.
