SUNGAI PETANI: A jobless man has been remanded for seven days for sexually assaulting his three-year-old daughter.
Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Adzli Abu Shah said the 25-year-old man was arrested after his wife filed a police report against him.
“On March 1, at around 9.30am the accused’s wife, a 39-year-old cleaner, found naked pictures of her daughter and multiple pictures of her husband’s privates in her daughter’s privates on her husband’s handphone.
“When the wife confronted her husband, he denied it despite it being his handphone and the photographs being dated Feb 29.
“Their children were under the man’s care on Feb 29 as the wife was at work,” he said in a statement Tuesday (March 3).
ACP Adzli said the victim is the youngest of three children.
“The man was arrested at 11pm on March 2 at his home in Taman Seri Tanjung in Sungai Petani.
“The accused tested negative for drugs.
“The case is being investigated under section Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017,” he said.
