PETALING JAYA: Police are hunting down one more member of a robbery gang that had terrorised people in the Kota Damansara area.

“A patrol car on crime prevention duties in Kota Damansara on March 7 spotted a car that was being driven around suspiciously. When the patrol team instructed the car to stop, the driver sped off. A chase ensued until Section 6, Kota Damansara.

“The suspect lost control of the car and collided with several cars in the housing area there. Three men got out from the car and tried to run but we managed to apprehend two of them.

“One still remains at large after he escaped during a scuffle with police, ” said Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Nik Ezanee Mohd Faisal to a press conference at the district police headquarters here on Monday (March 9).

He added that seven cases of house robbery have been linked to this gang, all of which were within the Kota Damansara area.

Police also found tools believed to have been used during their crime spree, including machetes, pliers and a saw.

The remaining suspect is identified as Kesavan Anbalagan, aka Rajan.

“I hope the public will be able to share any information on this suspect. Help me get this person. I want this man!” he said.

In an unrelated case, investigations into the alleged child abuse case by “Datuk Alif” is almost complete.

ACP Nik Ezanee said that the investigation papers should be completed within a day or two.

It would then be sent to the deputy public prosecutor for further action, he added.
