The Proton X70 has been launched in Brunei, with distribution of the SUV model handled by PAD Motors. Our Borneo neighbour is the first export market for the X70, and customers there will get to choose from three variants.

In terms of pricing, the base Standard 2WD goes for B$32,500 (RM98,028), while the mid-tier Executive 2WD retails at B$36,000 (RM108,585). Meanwhile, the range-topping Premium 2WD is priced at B$39,000 (RM117,634). These prices include a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty, as well as five times free labour service.

All variants are powered by a 1.8 litre turbocharged and direct-injected four-cylinder petrol engine, which serves up 181 hp and 285 Nm of torque. The mill is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission that sends drive to the front wheels.

The X70 in Brunei also gets the Geely Smart Ecosystem (GKUI) Android-based infotainment system, which features an eight-inch TFT LCD touchscreen, MirrorLink connectivity for Android smartphones and voice command that responds to the activation term, “Hi Proton.”
